Not yet — the FieldNotes MCP connector is on our roadmap. It will let agents place requests and fetch transcripts from inside your LLM workflow, with a human on your side approving the expert before anything runs or is charged. Can I get started on my own without talking to a salesperson?

Yes. You can sign up and place your first order yourself — no call required. We’ll just need to confirm your company name and type of business.

Do I need to download or install any software?

No. FieldNotes works in your web browser. We are working to build an MCP Claude, ChatGPT connector etc. to support placing new requests or accessing your transcripts inside your preferred LLM without leaving your workflow.

Are the experts real people and not AI?

Yes. Every answer comes from a vetted human and we only allow voice answers, never written ones, so experts cannot pad answers with an LLM or a search engine. The quality of our insights is paramount to FieldNotes.

Yes. All payments run through Stripe, the same processor used by major companies. We do not handle your raw card data ourselves.

Yes. Every interview is live voice, never written, for exactly this reason. You are paying for the expert’s own experience.

Yes. Questions come in blocks of five, so ten questions is two blocks, two charges etc.

Is the difference between a Standard and a Premium expert just their seniority/background and expert speaker fee?

Yes. Premium buys a more senior or specialized expert, who typically has a higher speaker fee. The process of distinguishing a standard and premium expert is internal to FieldNotes expert onboarding processes and not subject to change at the request of a client.

Do I get to write and ask the questions?

Yes. You write up to five questions, and we ask them to the expert verbatim.

Can FieldNotes write the questions for me if I just give a research description?

Yes. Our intake assistant helps turn your research goal into questions, but you approve the final five before we ask them.

Can I provide a document or link for the expert to review before the call or before answering my questions?

Yes. You can attach optional research context, and we share it with the expert so they can answer better. However, the expert may require an additional 15 minutes, charged to you, to compensate for time spent pre-reading your material.

Do I pick the expert before you select them?

Yes. Describe the background and we source the best match, or name a specific person, for example by sending a LinkedIn profile, and we will try to recruit them for you. Either way you can review and approve the match before anything is charged.

Yes. Businesses can pay by ACH on Net 30 terms with one consolidated monthly invoice. Card payments are charged at the time of the charge event.

Is your pricing lower than a traditional expert network because you are an AI-native service business?

Yes. FieldNotes is an AI-native services company, so most of what a traditional network runs with large research and operations teams, we automate. That AI operating leverage strips out the overhead that drives their cost, which is what lets us offer flat, transparent per-request pricing with no retainer, no minimums, and no annual contract.

Do you offer a free trial or a first free call?

If I have an unpaid balance, will you keep working on my orders or can I place new research requests?

No. If a card payment fails or an invoice goes overdue, we pause everything until the balance is cleared. You cannot place new orders, we stop work on any orders in progress, and we withhold any completed transcripts until you have paid.

No. You are anonymous and referred to only as "Client" throughout.

Yes. Everything you have ordered is searchable, and you can re-download your own transcripts anytime via our client portal and we’re building an MCP connector that will allow you to directly access your transcripts within your chosen LLM e.g., Claude, ChatGPT.

Can I share transcripts with colleagues at my company?

Yes. Anyone on your account can read and search the account’s transcripts.

Can I publish or quote my transcripts externally, including on social media?

No. Transcripts are licensed for your internal investment research only. Do not publish, post, or quote them anywhere, including social media, without prior written authorization. For press or quotation requests, contact support@fieldnotesexpert.com. Unauthorized use risks loss of access and IP enforcement.

Can my whole team share one account and see every transcript?

Yes. Add teammates with a link, billing is shared by default, and everyone can search the account’s full library.

Can I run the same questions on a weekly or monthly schedule?

Not yet. Automatic scheduling is on our roadmap. You can re-run the same questions any time, with the same expert or a fresh one, and you approve each run before anything is charged. If you want a standing cadence in the meantime, email support@fieldnotesexpert.com and we will run it for you manually.

Will you give me a delivery deadline?

No. We don’t quote a turnaround time. We work as fast as possible and deliver experts as soon as they’re ready for you to approve.

No. A no-show costs nothing.

Yes. If you cancel or reschedule within an hour of the start time, you are charged for 15 minutes.
